Revealed Light

Revealed Light Foundation, Inc. is a Georgia nonprofit organization recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. We are dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease in underserved communities across sub-Saharan Africa. The Foundation supports patients and families through assistance programs, educational scholarships, community health initiatives, and partnerships with local healthcare providers and organizations.

We seek to bring hope, care, and opportunity to people affected by sickle cell disease while strengthening local communities and empowering future healthcare leaders. Through compassionate service and sustainable partnerships, the Foundation strives to be a source of light and hope for those living with sickle cell disease.

Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is a genetic blood disorder that causes red blood cells to become rigid and sickle-shaped, leading to severe pain, anemia, organ damage, and other life-threatening complications. People living with SCD and their families often face tremendous economic and social challenges, as well as a lifelong battle with the disease. We seek to stand closer to these courageous individuals and families, offering support and helping their light continue to shine through every challenge.

Board Members

President. Seung Yup (Paul) Lee
Seung Yup (Paul) Lee is an assistant professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Kennesaw State University and director of the Translational Biomedical Optics Laboratory. His research develops affordable, light-based technologies to improve care for people with sickle cell disease, especially in underserved communities. He is passionate about using engineering innovation to expand access to better healthcare.

Director. Sangsun Choi
Sangsun Choi is a filmmaker and assistant professor at Kennesaw State University in Georgia. As an award-winning filmmaker, he has made numerous films, including stories about people living with SCD in Africa. He is passionate about shedding light on their resilience and determination to keep fighting for their lives.

Treasurer. Andrew Yoo
Andrew Yoo is a graduate of Georgia State University and has spent close to 20 years in the insurance industry. He currently serves as Assistant Vice President at Rokstone Construction Risk Underwriters. Andrew lives in Buford, GA and is an active member of New Church of Atlanta, where he serves in the children’s ministry. He has a passion for serving others, supporting mission work, and giving back to the community.
